The essence of competence is relevance to the workplace. What matters is that there is a proper focus on both the risks that occur most often and those with serious consequences.
Every employer must provide adequate and appropriate first aid equipment as part of their first aid arrangements. But how do they determine what is adequate and appropriate?
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) refers to protective clothing, helmets, goggles, or other items of clothing or equipment designed to protect the wearer from injury or infection.
If you have 5 or more employees you must have a written health and safety policy. Even if you have fewer than 5 employees it is still good practice to have one.
It s a good practice to do so.
I have been dealing with Zodiac for almost four years for all H&S for our family run business.
We run a timber and fencing store, based in Kings Langley Hertfordshire. We operate with 8 staff and we have always been very aware of the risks surrounding our operation.
Mark has been truly excellent with his advice and recommendations for our day to day running of our operation. We specialise in the supply and installation of garden fencing and sheds. We also have woodworking machinery on site, which is used occasionally. Mark has been hands on at all stages. Risk assessments, procedures and training have all been covered in detail, with regular contact from Mark, to ensure his recommendations have been actioned.
I cannot recommend Mark at Zodiac enough. He is extremely easy to deal with and he ensures every risk within the working environment is covered. His communication with all of our staff has been excellent, and daily tasks are now carried out with a much stronger awareness of any risk involved.
